impact partners develops footprint calculation tool

impact partners has developed an online carbon footprint calculator for ANIPC – the Portuguese National Association of Paper and Cardboard Industries.

Developed under the Paper4Neutral project, the tool allows companies in the sector to estimate their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, enhancing awareness of their environmental impact and supporting the definition of decarbonization strategies. Based on internationally recognized methodologies, such as ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol, the calculator is tailored to the specific context of Portuguese paper and cardboard companies. It enables an initial diagnosis of emissions related to energy consumption, mobility, and production processes.

The tool also allows emissions to be broken down by gas type (such as CO₂, CH₄ or N₂O) and by scope (Scopes 1 and 2), ensuring a more detailed analysis in line with international best practices for reporting.

“Sustainability and carbon neutrality are no longer trends – they are strategic priorities. This tool is another step forward in helping companies in the sector better understand their impact and prepare for upcoming regulatory and market challenges,” said Pedro Conceição, Director-General of ANIPC, during the tool’s launch.

According to Joana Andrade, partner at impact partners, “this launch is aligned with our mission to develop practical and accessible solutions that support companies in implementing sustainability strategies with real impact.”
